This is JSJ Constructions largest job in the 13 years of being a company. Approximately 36,000LF to be installed from all different sizes of pipe ranging from as small as 6in up to 24in pipe. Multiple tie-ins have to be done in order to keep metros water system together. Around 60 connections to existing mains in all. These crews also had to keep up with taps and reconnects to the homeowner’s meters. A total of 800 ¾” and 1” taps had to be made to keep these houses on the metros water. Within the installation mentioned above, well over 100 valves and hydrants were put within the community so Metro water had multiple ways to control or redirect flow. All of the hydrants were installed of course so the departments could maintain good quality connections in case emergencies were to occur. This 2-year project will be completed 6 months ahead of schedule. Metro’s infrastructure will be efficiently upgraded and help with the removal of lead service lines.
